  • Submitted by: Claire Baker, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 17 June 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13657

That the Parliament congratulates Carnock Primary School on becoming the first school in Fife to achieve the gold standard reading award from the Scottish Book Trust; recognises the hard work of pupils and staff in creating a better reading environment and taking part in a number of long-term initiatives to help promote a love of books; welcomes that the school placed reading at the centre of the school community and worked towards the award through whole school projects, author visits, paired reading and other activities, including a Big Book Festival in the local park, and notes that book recommendations from the pupils can currently be viewed in Waterstones in Dunfermline.
