That the Parliament recognises beloved Bankie, John McGinn, who will be playing with the Scotland National Football Team in Germany during the UEFA European Football Championship 2024; notes that Scotland will be playing the host nation Germany on 14 June in the tournament’s opening match; praises football for bringing communities together; celebrates local players who are inspiring young people in the sport, and wishes John and the rest of the Scotland squad well in the tournament.
