  • Date lodged: Thursday, 13 June 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13621

That the Parliament welcomes the findings of the University of Glasgow report, Women in multiple low-paid employment, led by Louise Lawson; recognises what it sees as the importance of taking steps to reduce inequalities between men and women around pay and working conditions; commends all 105 women who took part in the research for their insight and for sharing their experiences; notes the findings that nearly one in five women will experience multiple low-paid employment (MLPE) over the course of a decade; further notes that caring responsibilities and health and wellbeing conditions have a significant impact on women’s work; thanks the Nuffield Foundation for funding the research programme and for its work in improving social wellbeing, and encourages those who have not yet read the report to do so.
