That the Parliament commends the efforts of inspirational fundraiser, Ally Russell, of Kirkintilloch, on his 13-hour challenge in aid of Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre; congratulates Ally, aged 24, on running an incredible 100km, supported by his close friend Kyle Richford, from Edinburgh to the Beatson centre in Glasgow, and for raising more than £9,500 so far for the charity; understands that Ally took on the challenge to show his gratitude to the Beatson centre for all the support that his mum, Lorna, has received since her cancer diagnosis at the end of 2023; notes that the goal is to raise funds to enhance patients’ treatment experience, from small comforts to essential resources; is enormously grateful for the dedication of medical staff at the Beatson centre; applauds Ally for helping to improve the journey for patients after their diagnosis, and wishes him and his friends and family all the very best.
