Glasgow Teacher Nominated for UK Teacher of the Year Title

That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow teacher, Natasia Nawaz, on being nominated to be UK Teacher of the Year; understands that Natasia is a P1 teacher at Sandaig Primary School, in Barlanark; recognises that Natasia has been nominated for her dedication, innovation and positive impact on young learners; notes that Natasia’s teaching methods of phonics, which is a method of teaching reading and writing, have been filmed and shared as best practice amongst schools city-wide; understands that her school considers that her innovative teaching methods and strong relationship with pupils and parents have resulted in improvements in attendance and attainment; notes that the winner of the competition, run by Miconex, will be announced in September 2024; considers that Natasia is an excellent candidate for the award, and wishes her all the best for the competition.
