That the Parliament notes that 3 April 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the CEIS Group, the social enterprise based in Glasgow; further notes that the CEIS Group was established in 1984 with the aim of making Scotland a better place to work through a more inclusive economy; believes that throughout its history, it has undertaken a number of initiatives and partnerships that have had a large impact on the third sector; understands that the CEIS Group helped to create Scotland’s Social Enterprise Strategy, pioneered social enterprise business support by leading on the Just Enterprise partnership, offers what it sees as innovative employability service through CEIS Ayrshire and founded the Social Enterprise World Forum; further understands that it was instrumental in the foundation of the Glasgow Social Enterprise Network, and considers that it has had a great impact in the SME funding arena via DSL; believes that is leader in social innovation, including through programmes such as the International Social Enterprise Observatory, which attracted inward investment, and the Social Innovation Spin Out programme, which is aligned to the entrepreneurial campus, and understands that it has been a passionate champion of community wealth building and the wellbeing economy; congratulates the CEIS Group on four decades of working to build community enterprise in Glasgow, and across Scotland, and wishes it every success for the future.
