That the Parliament congratulates Nico Fenu and Rebecca Cleary on receiving a Scottish EDGE Award of £80,000 to develop their business Nami Surgical Ltd; understands that Nami Surgical Ltd has developed a miniaturised ultrasonic scalpel for robotic-assisted surgery; further understands that Nami Surgical Ltd aims to allow surgeons to perform faster and safer robotic procedures, enable the clinical benefits of ultrasonic devices in robotic surgery to drastically improve patient outcomes, and expand the adoption of robots in surgery for procedures requiring ultrasonic devices; notes that Scottish EDGE is a competition aimed at identifying and supporting Scotland’s up-and-coming, innovative, high-growth potential entrepreneurial talent; further notes that Scottish EDGE is made up of four categories, Scottish EDGE, for companies of all sectors and stages, Young EDGE, for companies where all directors are under the age of 30, Wild Card EDGE, for companies who are currently pre-trading, and Social Enterprise EDGE, for asset-locked social services, and commends Nico on winning this award.
