Recognising the Positive Contributions of Young Climate Activist, Caylie McKenzie

  • Submitted by: Monica Lennon, Central Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 22 June 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-09619

That the Parliament congratulates seven-year-old Caylie McKenzie, from Kilsyth, on raising more than £700 for Strathcarron Hospice through a sponsored litter-pick; recognises that Caylie’s passion for wildlife and the environment motivates her to spend her free time litter-picking, and that she is respected in her community as a young climate activist; understands that Caylie wanted to fundraise for Strathcarron Hospice as a thank you for taking care of a family member; notes that hospices rely on public generosity, and that the money raised will help support people living with life-limiting conditions and their families across Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth; commends Caylie for being kind to animals and people; believes that Caylie is a positive role model for other children and young people, and wishes her all the best for the future.
