Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government, further to the statement by the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills on 23 June 2020 that all newly qualified teachers would be employed in teaching posts in 2020, and in light of reports that some education authorities have stated that they do not have enough money to employ more teachers, how it plans to resource this commitment.
