Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government what its response is to the recent National Day Nurseries Association survey, which suggests that, due to reduced funding and rising business costs, half of the nurseries that responded were unlikely or unsure they would be able to offer additional free childcare hours, as proposed by the Scottish Government.

To ask the Scottish Government what it is doing to encourage more (a) school leavers and (b) college students into apprenticeships, in light of the recent survey by Prudential that suggests that half of school leavers in Scotland say they know little about apprenticeships on offer.
