Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government, further to Age Scotland's reported letter to the First Minister requesting urgent action to provide more financial support for older people and those on the lowest incomes to warm their homes, whether (a) direct, targeted home assessments of those on the lowest incomes will be carried out and (b) a significant national benefit uptake campaign will be launched to ensure that people are not missing out on social security entitlements.
