To ask the Scottish Government whether it is currently on track to meet the target of 500 employee-owned businesses by 2030.
Answer
Co-operative Development Scotland, the arm of Scotland’s enterprise agencies which supports company growth through collaborative and employee ownership business models, reports that approximately 110 employee-owned businesses are registered in Scotland - around one third of the UK total.
Last year the Scottish Government funded the establishment of an employee ownership Industry Leadership Group, Scotland for Employee Ownership , with ambitious goals which empower the sector to direct its own growth and development.
In the last five years the number of employee-owned businesses in Scotland has trebled. Inquiries to Co-operative Development Scotland connected to employee ownership and succession options have increased by 50% since 2018. Co-operative Development Scotland consider that the ambitious sector target of 500 employee-owned businesses by 2030 is achievable.

To ask the Scottish Government what progress it has made in developing its 10-year Child and Adolescent Health and Wellbeing Action Plan, and when it will be published.
Answer
Good progress has been made on a health and wellbeing action plan. Extensive engagement has been undertaken with children, young people, parents and professionals to understand how best to support and improve child and adolescent health.
Building on this feedback, and research evidence about the broad determinants of health, the Scottish Government is currently undertaking work to finalise a shared cross-portfolio Vision and Action Plan. This will take a holistic approach to improving a broad range of outcomes for children, young people and their families, covering the wide-range of factors which influence health and wellbeing.
The cross-portfolio Vision and Action Plan will be published in early 2020.
