Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government what its response is to reports that Premier Oil’s Catcher oilfield is producing 20,000 barrels per day, and what impact this will have on employment.

To ask the Scottish Government what its response to the finding in the DNV GL report, Confidence and Control, which suggests that confidence among UK oil and gas industry leaders has increased by 43% over the last year; what impact this reported increase in confidence might have on the sector and its supply chain and, in light of the report stating that 2018 will see a "step change" in spending levels, what action it will take to support oil and gas research and development.

To ask the Scottish Government, in light of reports of increasing confidence in the industry and the comment by the chief executive of Premier Oil  that "there is a bounce across the sector", what engagement it is having with the oil and gas firms to ensure that they are properly supported in recovery and realising potential.
