To ask the Scottish Government how CashBack for Communities is supporting people in Motherwell and Wishaw.
Answer
Between 2008 and 2018 the Cashback for Communities Programme has invested over £3m in the North Lanarkshire area, which includes Motherwell and Wishaw. This has delivered just under 89,000 activities to support young people into positive destinations, diverting some away from potentially criminal or anti-social behaviour.

To ask the Scottish Government how it is marking Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
Answer
This afternoon I will be attending a photo-call to mark pancreatic cancer awareness month and the Scottish Government will be lighting our buildings purple on 21 November in support and would urge other businesses to do similar.
Our referral guidelines were updated in January to support GPs to be more aware of the potential signs and symptoms of cancer including pancreatic and earlier this year I met with Pancreatic Cancer campaigners and medical professionals to discuss pancreatic cancer services in Scotland. As a result of this meeting, I committed to examining the results of an ongoing Clinician led audit into pancreatic cancer services throughout Scotland and will discuss the findings later this month.

To ask the Scottish Government what it is doing to encourage the uptake of the Best Start Foods payment in Motherwell and Wishaw.
Answer
Best Start Foods was launched, and opened to all new claimants on 12 August 2019. We have worked closely with partners in health boards, across Scotland, to ensure that all families who may be eligible for Best Start Foods have access to the information required to apply.
Existing Healthy Start Voucher recipients will be phased onto the new Best Start Foods Payment Card, on a geographical basis, with those in North Lanarkshire being invited to transition onto the new scheme by the end of 2019.

To ask the Scottish Government what action it is taking to enable Scotland to make the most of 5G technology.
Answer
5G technology can help take our digital connectivity to the next level, and could add an estimated £17 billion to economic output by 2034 and create up to 160,000 new jobs.
That is why in our Programme for Government, we committed to establishing the Scotland 5G Centre. This partnership between Government, academia and industry will be a national platform for collaboration, innovation and knowledge sharing to ensure we capitalise on this emergent technology.
Our 5G Strategy for Scotland, launched by the First Minister on 26 August, outlines actions we will take to forge Scotland’s digital future.
