Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)

To ask the Scottish Government when the minister for public health last met Food Standards Scotland and what was discussed.

I will meet with Food Standards Scotland later today to discuss matters across the FSS remit, which encompasses food safety and standards, nutrition and labelling.

My predecessor met with the FSS Chair and Chief Executive on 21 December 2017 to discuss the impact of leaving the EU on the FSS remit, and more recently, met informally with FSS on 30 May when, at FSS’s invitation, she spoke at an evening reception for an international working group meeting of the Codex Alimentarius, which took place in Edinburgh. There were no formal discussions at that meeting.
