To ask the Scottish Government what assessment it has undertaken of the provision of specialist mental health support for people who have been diagnosed with diabetes and who may require such support.
Answer
The Scottish Government recognises the challenges faced by people living with all forms of diabetes and the critical interdependence between physical and mental health. However, it is the responsibility of local services, in partnership, to undertake assessments identifying the needs of the local population and then commission services which meet the needs of those individuals.
