To ask the Scottish Executive whether it considers that there are circumstances in which overriding public interest should overrule the right of companies to withhold the release of commercially sensitive information.
Answer
Yes. Each case should be consideredon its merits, but the public interest should normally be taken into account wherethe possibility of withholding commercially sensitive information is being considered.
