Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Executive whether any of its Security Branch management staff have had complaints lodged against them by other staff since amalgamation and, if so, what the nature of the complaints have been, what grades the staff members who have had such complaints lodged against them are, how such complaints have been investigated and what the outcomes have been of the investigations into each of the complaints lodged.

To ask the Scottish Executive what representations it has made to the National Asylum Support Service (NASS) regarding the length of time clients are expected to stay in emergency accommodation while awaiting a NASS decision on support in the light of the Social Justice Committee's response to Petition: PE242 on asylum seekers published in February 2001.
