Audit Scotland has highlighted the need for better support structures for paid and unpaid carers. How might the NPF capture the role of unpaid carers?

Good morning, and welcome to the 22nd meeting in 2024 of the Health, Social Care and Sport Committee. I have received no apologies.

What would be the ideal scenario for budget setting? Would it be direct funding for IJBs, for example, or another model?

I thank the witnesses for their evidence, and I am very grateful for their time.

Kathrine Sibbald, my last question is specifically about what Audit Scotland has looked at, which you referenced. Is there a plan to look in more depth at IJB funding in the future—at the disparity between the amounts that health boards fund, taking into account the differences in the services that are delivered across the country?
