Economy and Fair Work Committee

Registers of Scotland

Meeting date: 7 September 2022

Colin Beattie

You are at 91 per cent on that, for the April to June quarter.

I will come back to your bespoke timescales in a second, but the target means that, over the next five years, you do not expect to deal with new cases within the period that you anticipate, and therefore surely you will go into arrears because of the ones that are not picked up. For the next five years, you will be treading water.

Therefore, you were not aware from the outset that FMEL could not provide a full BRG.

It is not correct.

At the pre-qualification questionnaire stage, did FMEL explicitly state that it could not provide the full BRG, which was a requisite for shortlisting to the ITT stage?

Is that normal?

Was there nothing specifically unusual in taking legal advice as to whether you were obliged to pay the milestone payments?
