The Committee considered its approach and agreed to hold an evidence session, in private, on the Poverty and Inequality Commission Resignation Review Report with the reviewer.

The Committee considered its work programme. In relation to the Social Security (Amendment) Bill at Stage 1, it agreed the witnesses to be invited to provide oral evidence; to seek written evidence on specific parts of the Bill; that any future consideration of what evidence to seek on the Bill be taken in private, and to delegate to the Convener responsibility for agreeing any witness expenses. The Committee also agreed to hold an evidence session on housing refugees and the witnesses to be invited; to take evidence on the social security redetermination and appeals process; and to write to the Scottish Government and Social Security Scotland regarding Social Security Scotland’s process for seeking supporting information needed to determine applications for assistance.
