Jeremy Balfour indicated that he is in receipt of Personal Independence Payment.
Natalie Don is a councillor for Renfrewshire Council.
Pam Duncan-Glancy worked for Public Health Scotland until 11 May 2021 and indicated that she is in receipt of Personal Independence Payment.
Neil Gray indicated that he was formerly the Deputy Convener of the Social Justice and Fairness Commission.
Emma Roddick is a councillor for Highland Council and indicated that she formerly worked on the Social Justice and Care Commission.
Miles Briggs, Foysol Choudhury and Marie McNair had no relevant interests to declare.
The Committee chose Neil Gray its Convener.
The Committee chose Natalie Don as its Deputy Convener.
The Committee agreed to take item 6 in private.
The Committee noted the Social Security Committee Session 5 legacy paper and agreed to consider it as part of a future work programme discussion.
The Committee considered its approach to developing its work programme and agreed to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Housing and Local Government about the Scottish Government’s priorities and to invite oral evidence from the Cabinet Secretary after the summer recess. Similarly, the Committee agreed to write to Social Security Scotland, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions and the Department of Work and Pensions about their priorities. The Committee also agreed to hold a business planning day and delegated authority to make arrangements to the Convener. Furthermore, the Committee agreed its approach to forthcoming legislation.
