1. Subordinate legislation:

The Committee took evidence on the Plant Health (Import Inspection Fees) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2024 [draft] from—

Lorna Slater, Minister for Green Skills, Circular Economy and Biodiversity, supported by John Speirs, Senior Policy Advisor and Emily Williams Boylston, Solicitor, Scottish Government.


2. Subordinate legislation:

Lorna Slater, Minister for Green Skills, Circular Economy and Biodiversity moved—

S6M-12218—That the Rural Affairs and Islands Committee recommends that the Plant Health (Import Inspection Fees) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2024 [draft] be approved.

The motion was agreed to.


3. Petition PE1758: End greyhound racing in Scotland

The Committee took evidence from—

Daniel Alcorn and George Stark, registered owners, trainers, and breeders, Greyhound Board of Great Britain.


4. Work programme(In Private):

The Committee considered its work programme. The Committee agreed to take additional evidence on the draft Sea Fisheries (Remote Electronic Monitoring and Regulation of Scallop Fishing) (Scotland) Regulations 2024, when laid, and to consider a further work programme paper at its next meeting.
