1. Declaration of interests:
Mark Ruskell indicated that he has lodged a proposal for a member's bill, the Prohibition of Greyhound Racing (Scotland) Bill, and declared an interest as an honorary associate member of the British Veterinary Association and a beekeeper.
2. Decision on taking business in private:
The Committee agreed to take item 3 in private and to consider Petition PE1490: Control of wild goose numbers; and its Annual Report 2023 to 2024 in private at its next meeting.
3. Petition PE1758: End greyhound racing in Scotland:
The Committee took evidence from—
Jim Fairlie, Minister for Agriculture and Connectivity accompanied by Andrew Voas, Veterinary Head of Animal Welfare, Scottish Government.
