The Committee took evidence from—

Mairi Gougeon, Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and Islands, supported by George Burgess, Director of Agriculture and Rural Economy and Euan Page, Head of UK Frameworks, Scottish Government.

3. UK Subordinate legislation:

The Committee considered a proposal by the Scottish Government to consent to the UK Government legislating using the powers under the European Union Withdrawal Act 2018 in relation to the following UK statutory instrument proposal—

Animals and Animal Health, Feed and Food, Plants and Plant Health (Amendment) Regulations 2022.

The Committee agreed that the provisions set out in the notification should be included in the UK SI.
