1. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 3, 4, 5 and 6 in private.


2. How the Scottish Government is set to deliver climate change goals: Governance and risk management arrangements for net zero targets and adaptation outcomes:

The Committee took evidence on the report from—

Stephen Boyle, Auditor General for Scotland;

Rebecca Seidel, Senior Manager and Sally Thompson, Senior Manager, Audit Scotland.


3. How the Scottish Government is set to deliver climate change goals: Governance and risk management arrangements for net zero targets and adaptation outcomes (In Private):

The Committee considered the evidence heard at agenda item 2 and took further evidence from—

Stephen Boyle, Auditor General for Scotland;

Rebecca Seidel, Senior Manager and Sally Thompson, Senior Manager, Audit Scotland.


4. How the Scottish Government is set to deliver climate change goals: Governance and risk management arrangements for net zero targets and adaptation outcomes (In Private):

The Committee considered the evidence heard and agreed to invite the Scottish Government to give oral evidence at a future meeting.


5. Annual report (In Private):

The Committee agreed a draft annual report for the parliamentary year from 13 May 2022 to 12 May 2023.


6. Work programme (In Private):

The Committee considered its work programme and noted correspondence from the Director-General Economy and attached correspondence between the Director-General Economy and the Cabinet Secretary for Wellbeing, Economy, Fair Work and Energy. The Committee agreed to invite the Cabinet Secretary for Wellbeing, Economy, Fair Work and Energy to give oral evidence at a future meeting.

The Committee noted correspondence from the Permanent Secretary, Scottish Government in relation to the 2021/22 audit of the Scottish Government Consolidated Accounts and agreed to write to the Scottish Government. The Committee also agreed to write to the Finance and Public Administration Committee.

The Committee noted correspondence from the Auditor General for Scotland and the Accounts Commission in relation to Replacement European Union funds - future audit and accountability arrangements.
