The 2020/21 audit of NHS Highland

Background

On 14 December 2021, the Auditor General for Scotland published the 2020/21 audit of NHS Highland.

The report says:

"NHS Highland is making progress under a more stable Leadership Team and financial management has strengthened alongside some improvements in governance and service delivery. However, it does continue to operate within a challenging financial environment."

Decision: The Committee agreed to give consideration to the Auditor General for Scotland’s forthcoming Section 23 report - NHS in Scotland 2021 before deciding its next steps.

Decision: At its meeting on 17 March 2022, the Committee agreed to invite NHS Highland to give oral evidence at a future meeting.
