1. Decisions on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 in private.


2. Building Safety and Maintenance:

The Committee took evidence from—

Craig Dugdale, Surveying Manager and Jackie Timmons, Head of Area Based Regeneration and Shared Repairs, City of Edinburgh Council;

Euan McCallum, Acting Housing Assets Manager, Angus Council;

Murray Sharp, Senior Manager, Housing, Clackmannanshire Council;

Susie Fitton, Policy Manager, Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA);

Louise Butchart, Head of Housing, Construction and Communities,  and Gary Brady, City Engineer, Design and Property Services, Dundee City Council.


3. Building Safety and Maintenance (in private):

The Committee considered the evidence heard earlier in the meeting and agreed to write to COSLA on issues raised in the meeting.


4. Housing Inquiry (in private):

The Committee considered a draft report. Various changes were agreed to, and the Committee agreed to consider a revised draft at its next meeting.


5. Child poverty (in private):

The Committee considered correspondence from the Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice. The Committee agreed to consider a draft response at its next meeting.


6. Electoral boundaries: Independent review of automaticity (in private):

The Committee considered correspondence from the Minister for Parliamentary Business. The Committee agreed to consider a draft response by correspondence.


7. Work programme (in private):

The Committee considered how work it had undertaken earlier in the session could contribute to Stage 1 scrutiny of the Community Wealth Building (Scotland) Bill. The Committee agreed to hold a business planning day on 10 June 2025, and to consider its approach to its annual review of the fourth National Planning Framework at its next meeting.
