1. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 in private.


2. Scrutiny of the Scottish Housing Regulator:

The Committee took evidence from—

Michael Cameron, Chief Executive and George Walker, Chair, Scottish Housing Regulator.


3. Scrutiny of the Scottish Housing Regulator (in private):

The Committee considered the evidence heard earlier in the meeting.


4. Scrutiny of SPCB Supported Bodies (in private):

The Committee agreed draft correspondence to the Ethical Standards Commissioner, Standards Commission for Scotland and the Finance and Public Administration Committee.


5. Housing emergency inquiry (in private):

The Committee agreed a report on its visit to Argyll & Bute Council.


6. Renters' Rights Bill (UK Parliament legislation) (in private):

The Committee agreed a report on Legislative Consent Memorandum LCM-(S6)-49.


7. Work programme (in private):

The Committee considered its work programme.

Building Safety

The Committee agreed to issue a call for views to inform its annual session on building safety and to invite the Minister for Housing to give evidence at a future meeting.

The Building (Procedure) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2024

The Committee agreed to write to stakeholders on the Regulations.

NPF4

The Committee agreed to write to key stakeholders to inform its scrutiny focus this year.

Heat in buildings

The Committee agreed to undertake informal pre-legislative scrutiny of the proposed Heat in Buildings Bill and to return to consider in the New Year what that pre-legislative scrutiny will look like.

Annual sessions with the Accounts Commission

The Committee agreed to invite the Accounts Commission to give evidence on a biannual basis.
