1. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 3 and 4 in private.

 

Stephanie Callaghan MSP declared an interest as having served as a Councillor on South Lanarkshire Council.

Marie McNair MSP also declared an interest as having served as a Councillor on West Dunbartonshire Council.

2. New Deal with Local Government:

The Committee took evidence from—

Dr Jonathan Carr-West, Chief Executive, Local Government Information Unit;

Professor Donna Hall CBE, Former CEO of Wigan Council & Wigan NHS Clinical Commissioning Group;

Professor Jim Gallagher.

3. New Deal with Local Government (in private):

The Committee considered the evidence heard earlier in the meeting.

4. Work programme (in private):

The Committee agreed its approach to developing its work programme.

5. Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Bill (in private):

The Committee agreed its approach to the scrutiny of the Bill at Stage 1.

6. Visitor Levy (Scotland) Bill (in private):

The Committee agreed its Stage 1 report.
