1. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 3 and 4 in private.

2. Building Safety:

The Committee took evidence from—

Chris Ashurst, Group Co-ordinator, High Rise Scotland Action Group;

Fionna Kell, Director of Policy, Homes for Scotland;

and then from—

Paul McLennan, Minister for Housing, Stephen Garvin, Deputy Director for Building Standards and Rachel Sunderland, Deputy Director, Cladding Remediation Unit, Scottish Government.

Annie Wells declared an interest as her son is working on cladding remediation. 

3. Building Safety (in private):

The Committee agreed to defer the consideration of the evidence heard earlier in the meeting to a future meeting.

4. Annual report (in private):

The Committee agreed its annual report for the parliamentary year from 13 May 2022 to 12 May 2023.
