1. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 in private.

2. Levelling-up and Regeneration Bill (UK Parliament legislation):

The Committee took evidence on legislative consent memorandum LCM-S6-23 from—

Tom Arthur, Minister for Public Finance, Planning and Community Wealth, Cara Davidson, Head of Environment and Energy, Planning, Architecture & Regeneration Division and Liz Pringle, Head of Digital Planning Service, Planning, Architecture & Regeneration Division, Scottish Government.

3. Understanding barriers to local elected office:

The Committee took evidence from—

Jessie Duncan, Development Officer, Engender;

Talat Yaqoob, Consultant and Co-Founder, Women 50:50;

Hannah Stevens, Chief Executive, Elect Her;

and then from—

Councillor Shona Morrison, President and Alexis Camble, Policy and Participation Officer, Equalities, COSLA.

4. Levelling-up and Regeneration Bill (UK Parliament legislation) (in private)

The Committee considered the evidence heard earlier in the meeting and agreed to write to the UK Government.

The Committee considered the evidence heard earlier in the meeting.

6. Community Empowerment Act (in private):

The Committee agreed its approach to post-legislative scrutiny of part 2 of the Act.

7. Cost of Living (Tenant Protection) (Scotland) Act (in private):

The Committee agreed its approach to the scrutiny of reports laid under Part 1 of the Act.

8. Pre-Budget Scrutiny 2023/24 (in private):

The Committee agreed a draft letter.
