1. Decision on taking business in private:
The Committee agreed to take item 3 in private.
2. Asylum Seekers in Scotland:
The Committee took evidence from—
Savan Qadir, Project Manager, Refugees for Justice;
Pinar Aksu, Human Rights and Advocacy Coordinator, Maryhill Integration Network;
Dr Sarah Stewart, Volunteer and Partnership Manager, Friends of Scottish Settlers;
Nick Hobbs, Head of Advice and Investigations, Children and Young People’s Commissioner Scotland;
María José Pavez, Policy Officer, Grampian Regional Equality Council;
Selina Hales, Founder and Director, Refuweegee.
3. Consideration of evidence (In Private):
The Committee considered the evidence it heard under agenda item 2. The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government requesting an update on progress in relation to reconsideration of the UNCRC.
