1. Scottish Attainment Challenge Inquiry (In Private):
The Committee considered a draft report for its Scottish Attainment Challenge Inquiry and agreed to consider an amended draft report at its next meeting.
2. Work programme (In Private):
The Committee considered its work programme.
The Committee agreed its approach to its upcoming one-off evidence session on universities in September. The Committee also agreed which organisations it will invite to give oral evidence and to seek written evidence from the witnesses, prior to the session, on a range of issues including the budget 2023/24.
The Committee agreed the focus of its evidence session with local authorities on Early Learning and Childcare funding. It also agreed to delegate the decision on witnesses for the session to the Convener and Deputy Convener.
The Committee agreed to request to be designated a secondary committee on the National Care Services (Scotland) Bill.
