1. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 5, 6 and 7 in private.


2. Subordinate legislation:

The Committee took evidence on the Consumer Scotland Act 2020 (Relevant Public Authorities) Regulations 2024 [draft] from—

Tom Arthur, Minister for Community Wealth and Public Finance; and

Neal Rafferty, Head of Heat Strategy and Consumer Policy Unit, Scottish Government.


3. Subordinate legislation:

Tom Arthur (Minister for Community Wealth and Public Finance) moved—

S6M-11828—That the Economy and Fair Work Committee recommends that the Consumer Scotland Act 2020 (Relevant Public Authorities) Regulations 2024 [draft] be approved.

The motion was agreed to.


4. Post-Legislative Scrutiny of the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014:

The Committee took evidence from—

Joanne Davidson, Scottish Chambers of Commerce Network, Scottish Chambers of Commerce;

Stacey Dingwall, Head of Policy and External Affairs (Scotland), Federation of Small Businesses; and

Colin Smith, Chief Executive, Scottish Wholesale Association.


5. Post-Legislative Scrutiny of the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 (In Private):

The Committee considered the evidence heard under agenda item 4.


6. Trade (Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership) Bill (UK Parliament legislation) (In Private):

The Committee considered a draft report. Minor changes were agreed to. The report was then agreed for publication.


7. Correspondence (In Private):

The Committee considered correspondence from Consumer Scotland and agreed to write to Consumer Scotland.
