The Scottish Government announced the New Deal for Business in April 2023.
Following this, a New Deal for Business Group (NDBG) was established to develop a high-quality functioning relationship between the Scottish Government and business and other partners by July 2025, which is key to delivery of the National Strategy for Economic Transformation (NSET).
In October 2023, the NDBG published an implementation plan to deliver its recommendations, setting out key actions and measurements of success.
The Scottish Government said this presents a long-term commitment to partnership between government and the business sector, "to create the conditions where business feels empowered to invest, to innovate and to provide good jobs".
The Committee agreed to hold a series of evidence sessions to consider the New Deal for Business and what progress has been made against the implementation plan.

Evidence sessions will take place on 19 February, 26 February and 19 March.
Following these sessions, the Committee will consider the evidence heard and agree any future work required.
