Citizen Participation and Public Petitions Committee

The Committee considered the following continued petitions—
PE1964: Create an independent review of the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman. The Committee agreed to close the petition under Rule 15.7 of Standing Orders.
PE2006: Review and simplify the legislation in relation to dismissal of property factors. The Committee agreed to write to the Minister for Victims and Community Safety and the Law Society of Scotland.
PE2033: Introduce a full ban on disposable vapes. The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Grocers Federation.
PE2067: Improve data on young people affected by conditions causing Sudden Cardiac Death. The Committee agreed to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care and to the Italian Embassy.
PE2071: Take action to protect people from airborne infections in health and social care settings. The Committee agreed to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care. The Committee also agreed to hold an evidence session on issues raised in healthcare petitions and to consider themes for this session at a future meeting.
PE2073: Ensure accurate information is used when issuing court summons. The Committee agreed to write to Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs and the Lord Advocate.
PE2084: Allow alkaline hydrolysis. The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government.
PE2086: Recognise the vaccine injured and offer appropriate treatment. The Committee agreed to the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care and NHS Scotland.
The Committee will consider the following new petitions—
PE2130: Make it illegal to remove all the hair from a horse's tail. The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government.
PE2131: Grant Scottish rivers, including the River Clyde, the legal right to personhood. The Committee agreed to write to the Glasgow City Region.
PE2137: Fair regulation for non-medical aesthetic injectors. The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government.
