Scottish Parliament jobs and MSP staff jobs are listed on our website on the Job Vacancies page. You can scroll down to view each role and click to apply. You can also search for roles via the search bar at the top of the page and select your preferred job location.
Please note that Scottish Parliament roles are based in Holyrood, Edinburgh. The exception to this is our Education Officer role, which can be based across Scotland.
If you work for the Scottish Parliament, you’ll be employed by the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body (the SPCB). The SPCB provides the people, the building, services, and support to MSPs for them to carry out their roles.
Working for the Scottish Parliament
If you work for an MSP you’ll be employed by the specific MSP named on the job vacancy title. MSPs are employers. MSP staff roles can be based in the Scottish Parliament building or in local offices, often in the MSP’s constituency.

Yes, you can set up a job alert and register with us. With a job alert, you’ll be notified by an email when your preferred job details are advertised. We also advise you to review our website regularly for new roles. There may be other jobs which could suit your skills too.
If you don’t see a job that you’d like to apply for, you can sign up for a job alert. A job alert will notify you by email when your preferred job details are advertised.
To set up a job alert, enter your job criteria in the search bar and click to find jobs. If there are no matching roles available, the “no suitable matches” message appears. This is located directly under the job search bar on the left side of the page.
Click on the “save this search as a job alert” button. If you’re not already registered with us, you’ll be prompted to set up an account. If you’re already registered, you can log in with your account details. After you’ve logged in you’ll be shown a page with your profile details. You’ll see confirmation there that your job alert has been set up with your preferences.
