The committee is carrying out an inquiry into the National Performance Framework (NPF), introduced by the Scottish Government in 2007.
The Framework aims to get everyone in Scotland working together to achieve a set of ambitions for Scotland as a society. To help achieve its purpose, the NPF set outs National Outcomes and measures progress towards achieving them through a list of national indicators.
The MSPs want to find out if the current processes in place to help deliver these National Outcomes work as well as they should, or if they can be improved.
While in Dundee and Glasgow, the MSPs will meet with:
- business organisations
- the voluntary sector
- local government representatives
- public sector bodies.
Committee Convener Kenneth Gibson MSP said: “Our committee is looking at how National Outcomes shape Scottish Government policy aims and spending decisions, and in turn, how this drives delivery at national and local level.
“By visiting Dundee and Glasgow this week we’ll get to hear first-hand experiences of delivering the national outcomes, what’s worked well and where improvements can be made.”
