  • Date lodged: Thursday, 25 July 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13948

That the Parliament commends the Bearsden Martial Arts Club (BMAC), which is organising a special charity event to raise funds for Kidney Research UK; understands that this will take place on 3 August 2024 from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm at Milngavie Town Hall with participants taking part in a gruelling sponsored training marathon; further understands that the club chose this charity after a member was diagnosed with a kidney condition; acknowledges that chronic kidney disease impacts an estimated 7.2 million people in the UK, with no cure currently available; proudly supports the BMAC as it seeks to support Kidney Research UK in the charity's vital efforts to improve treatment and find a cure, and wishes the club the best of luck at its training marathon and for the future.
